| General Overview | Gideon Asher (born Gideon ben Asher ibn Zechariah) was the child of Jewish merchants who lived and traded throughout the Iberian peninsula and into the “middle east” in the early years of the period that later became known as the “Golden Age of Spanish Jewry” (8th Century CE to the 13th Century CE). Gideon knew nothing of Lycans and Vampires and Witches and the like prior to his crossing over. That is until he and his trading party were attacked by feral Lycan. The Lycan killed all of his servants and mercenary protectors and were working their way through the corpses, when a patrol of Blood Rangers (Then known as Blood Knights) drove them off. Their leader found Gideon, still alive. Their leader turned Gideon and invited him to become a Blood Knight.. Gideon was taught to be a Blood Ranger, a Vampire warrior sworn to defend Vampire society from threats both internal and external. In addition to being the elite of the Vampire military forces, the Blood Rangers were tasked with policing Vampires. Gideon spent centuries moving around the Iberian Peninsula. He spent a great deal of time in the Caliphate of Cordova. He traveled in the Byzantine Empire, Egypt, Venice and other Italian States. He spent time in England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland. He traveled to several Asian countries. Japan, China, the Philippines, even India. He eventually ended up in the United States of America. He served tours with the Blood Rangers in WWI & WWII. He lived in Israel for much of the late 1940s through the early 1970s. Though Gideon has been a Blood Ranger long enough to hold a higher rank, he is satisfied being Havildar-Major, and even then, he is in the field more than his superiors deem proper. Gideon has spent centuries studying various forms of armed and unarmed combat. He has further adapted these skills to blend perfectly with his vampiric attributes. |
